Alongside my growing passion of producing music, I'm also developing a growing passion for listening to music. Yes - I've always listened to music, but it's recently started becoming a lot more of a passion or obsession. Artists like Tiesto and Deadmau5 have been blowing my mind with some of their older works. Most notably, Tiesto's Club Life, Vol. 4 - New York City Album, where each song seemlessly transitioned to the next as if being DJed live.
But after looking into the history of these artists, and how they rose to fame in the 90s and 00s club scene, I can't help but feel like I've joined the party a bit too late for the kind of music I aspire to make. I know music is constantly evolving as an industry but, in my mind, there was this period where music was just more special. In the rise of electronic music, everything was new and there was plenty of area for artists to carve into. Now, it feels saturated. I'll probably come to realise I'm wrong over the next few years as I step out into the world a bit more, but right now the future of music doesn't seem very fun.
Regardless of these negative thoughts, I'm still excited for my future in the music industry. I still think I can achieve a lot, just maybe in a different way than seen in the past.
